\nBetty HEIDLER (GER) Hammer Women - Winner
\nI have been looking forward to this competition because were a lot of good athletes here.
\nIt was necessary to have a good competition here to prepare for the World Championships.
\nMy goal this year is throw over 80.
\nThis is one of my favorite competitions. Everytime I am here I throw over 75. I enjoy coming to the Prefontaine Classic every year.

\nGarrett HEATH (USA) 1500m Men National - Winner
\nIt was a great race, it's always great to win. The crowd here was awesome so being here to do that in this atmosphere was really cool, especially at a Diamond League event.
\nObviously I was trying to go for that A standard so it was a little disappointed not to get that. But it was a little windy out there so I think that kind of affected the route a little bit. You're kind of always watching the clock, which is good and bad. Sometimes you just want to race.
\nI knew I had to make a long drive for home so I took off with 5 or 600 to go and tried to make a move and push it home. I didn't quite get the A but I'm happy to come away with a win. Hopefully it's a good confidence builder going into USAs in a couple weeks.

\nPhoebe WRIGHT (USA) 800m Women National - Winner
\nWinning is fun. It's been awhile. It was awesome. When I finished, my official had the nerve to be like, 'Would you take a victory lap?' Duh, Yes I'll take a victory lap. How many victory laps do you get to do? I wish it could last hours.
\nI had to kind of bide my time until I got to the front, but it worked out.
\nMade final push with 80 meters to go. 31.05.2013 20:16

\nValerie ADAMS (NZL) Shot Put Women - Winner
\nToday was a classic example of how much people are chasing me. I felt really fit today. I am pretty disappointed with the (mark) but I'm very happy with the win. I actually didn't feel like I won. But I've got to take the positive.
\nI am still motivated to be the best in the world and I am still motivated to become world champion again. I'm on a good roll with my training so life is good.
\nI really thought I was beaten. I didn't actually think that I had won. I was very disappointed in myself immediately. But you always have to take the positive. Today was just one of those days.
\nNEW ZEALAND
\nIt's good for the country, good for the sport.
\nMOSCOW
\nToday is just a steppingstone toward Moscow really.

\nChristina OBERGF\u00d6LL (GER) Javelin Women - Winner, repeat champion
\nI knew that I'm in really good shape. I was just happy that the weather is fine. It just felt good. If it's going easy, then it's a good throw. This throw felt really easy.
\nI knew it was going to go far. You know when it leaves your hand.
\nREPEAT PRE CLASSIC CHAMPION
\nIt's just a special place. I love coming here. 31.05.2013 20:39

\n
\nKenenisa BEKELE (ETH) 10000m Men - Winner
\nIt's very important. To win this race was very important. I'm happy to win.
\nTRAINING?
\nMy training was going well. Slowly, it's going well. I'm injury free now. Good training.
\nNO MO FARAH IN RACE
\nHe don't have to run this race. We have many races.
\nWHAT POINT IN RACE KNOW TIME WOULD BE OVER 27
\nWe decided to run under 27, but we didn't because ... the pace was slow. It's very tough to push (as) only one person.
\nHAPPY?
\nI'm OK. I'm happy that I win the race.

\nAndrew WHEATING (USA) International Mile Men - 5th place. Former UO runner

\n
\nSanya RICHARDS-ROSS (USA) 400m Women - 8th place
\nMy foot bothered me the whole way but it wasn't so much my foot, I didn't have my speed. I tried to block it out and get out well.
\nWhen I got to the curve I still felt strong but I tried to kick it in but there was no speed there to make up the ground and got a little bit discouraged coming down the final stretch.
\nThe first one is always hard, usually I don't do it in such a big crowd.
\nThis was only my second time in spikes. 01.06.2013 13:03
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nTirunesh DIBABA (ETH) 5000m Women - winner
\nI expected other girls to run much better than their times.
\nThe weather was very hot for me and as I mentioned the pacemakers weren't up to my expectation so I couldn't get the meet record.

\n
\nZuzana HEJNOV\u00c1 (CZE) 400m Hurdles Women - Winner
\nIt's beginning of the season so it doesn't matter if I'm first or fifth for example, so there's plenty of time before World Championships and everything will change.
\nIt's what I expected but it was very windy so I was happy with the time.
\nI'm happy to be world leading now. It's the beginning of the season so everything will be changing.
\nMy goal is to be the world champion. I would like to run my best. 01.06.2013 13:24

\n
\n
\nEzekiel KEMBOI (KEN)
\n3000m Steeplechase Men - Second place
\nThe guy pushed me. I've never been pushed before in a race. I'm going to register a complaint.

\n
\n
\n
\n
\nEvan JAGER (USA)
\n3000m Steeplechase Men - 5th place
\nThe pace was perfect. I felt pretty good through 2K.
\nI really tied up in that last lap.
\nI was just a little beat. I struggled to get over that last barrier. But for my opener of the season, I'm very happy.

\nConseslus KIPRUTO (KEN) 3000m Steeplechase Men - Winner
\nWe were always friends, always have been. 01.06.2013 13:34
\nSheila REID (CAN) 1500m Women - 6th place, PR
\nI just kind of did my own thing, which is go out on my own pace.
\nPR
\nIt was big. I needed that.
\nI just really want to concentrate on racing and not chasing times.
\nI'm pretty happy. 01.06.2013 13:41
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nAllyson FELIX (USA) 100m Women - 7th place
\nI felt OK, just trying to work on some speed but clearly it's not really there yet so just trying to put things together for nationals.
\nObviously, the start but even my turnover and just my typical run it's not where it needs to be.
\nI need some more speed work and overall it was our plan to try to be ready for nationals, kind of a different approach this year. Still, sticking to the plan is always kind of frustrating with something like that.
\n01.06.2013 13:46
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nRyan BAILEY (USA) 100m Men
\nI don't set a time goal, so it's just always go out there and get to the finish line first. We're just getting ready for USAs, that's really all that matters is making that team.
\nMy start was an F. Horrible. I went blank when the gun went off and sat in the blocks a while and everybody got out and I kind of panicked. But I finished real well.
\n01.06.2013 14:03
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nJustin GATLIN (USA) 100m Men - winner
\nMy whole race was my start. ... I came up and started lifting toward the end of the race and felt him coming up on me.
\nI told them the longest part of my race is the victory lap.
\nLast year I had indoor worlds so I had a sharper start and stronger beginning. This year I'm working on the finish. Last year was start hard and hold on. Going against guys like Blake, Bolt, Tyson, I had to work on my finish.
\nThis year was a more calm race and a strategizing race. I felt like I had a pretty good start. I had a good transition.
\nThe name of the game is just to stay healthy. 01.06.2013 14:12
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nKirani JAMES (GRN) 400m Men - 2nd place
\nIt's just another race. You win some, you lose some.
\nIt's the fastest I've ever run at Hayward Field so that's such a positive. Only two guys broke 45 seconds so that was OK. It was a great competitive race, it doesn't change anything. I know I have to execute better. I'm going to go back and look at the tape.
\n01.06.2013 14:22
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nLashawn MERRITT (USA) 400m Men - Winner, SB
\nThere wasn't a lot of wind out here like usual so I took advantage of it.
\nSo I'm pleased about that performance. I kept charging forward and ran through the line.
\nI wanted to come back and run a clean race from start to finish.
\nWORLD EXPECTATIONS
\nTo win. I train to win. Go to Moscow and win. In Moscow, I'm coming to run.
\nLast year was a disappointing year for myself. I wanted to win another Olympic gold medal but it didn't turn out that way. I believe I can go out and win.

\n
\nMary CAIN (USA)
\n800m Women - 5th place, National HS record
\nJust shocked. When I crossed the line, I knew it was going to be close. When they officially announced it, I looked at the crowd and was like, 'Yes!'
\nI stayed calm. I knew as long as I followed the plan I could do it.
\nI remember being here for the Trials. It's amazing to be here one year later.
\nI'm just very determined.
\nIt was still kind of a shock. Beforehand this was probably the most nervous I've been before a race but I handled it really well and didn't let the nerves control me.
\nI'm just so thrilled, I broke two minutes. Part of me was out there thinking today, no one has ever done this before. I'd be the first person to do it. That's been my goal since eighth grade. I'm going to be that kid, I'm going to do it.
\n01.06.2013 14:30

\n
\n
\nErik KYNARD (USA) High Jump Men
\nDown to the last man it felt like a World Championships final. Great competition. I guess the best man won today.
\nI didn't really want to make 2.39, just kidding, no it's definitely an amazing atmosphere. Anytime you can compete at Hayward, as long as the skies are clear, you can take flight. That's what happened today.
\nNothing felt different I just have to do the same thing over and over again. 01.06.2013 14:36

\n
\n
\n
\n
\nDathan RITZENHEIN (USA) 5000m Men - 9th
\nIt was fun. Second fastest time ever. It's fun to get the intensity back. The marathon will be easy compared to doing this.
\nLAST 800
\nI tried to get back on the rail again.
\nI've been training really well. I feel fit. I feel like I'm still getting better and better.
\nON TEAMMATE MO FARAH SECOND PLACE FINISH
\nHe's been really tired. He was really sick. When you get really sick, it takes awhile to come back. But he's so good.

\n
\n
\nRenaud LAVILLENIE (FRA) Pole Vault Men - winner
\nI'm very happy and the good thing is that's how I opened so now I can be focused on the next steps in preparation for the worlds. I'm very happy because it's my first competition and full approach so that's a really good thing for me and for the pole vault.
\nThe competition was very hard because I wasn't thinking more about four guys jumping over 5.84 but when I saw this competition and everyone jumping very well it was tough because everyone wants to beat me, the Olympic champion. That's the pressure I get to win. Yeah, it was kind of difficult for me.
\nIt was a very good performance. I'm very happy.
\nToday was a good preparation for Moscow. 01.06.2013 14:48

\nI'm so excited.
\nTHOUGHT ABOUT GOING FOR 8 FEET?

\nI want the world record, but not yet. I don't want to get injured. 01.06.2013 15:09

\n
\nLopez LOMONG (USA) Bowerman Mile - PR
\nI have to work all my way up.
\nI felt good and I'm very happy for that PR.
\nToday I just went out there and ran my own race. It came out very well so I'm very happy with that.
\nThe most important thing is to be consistent, be healthy and be excited as well.
\nI'm very happy with the result today.
\nRight now, I think I'm strong in the 5,000.
\nWe're going to be focused on speed now, stay injury free and go out there and have fun. 01.06.2013 15:16","date_added":"Jun 3rd 2013, 4:32am","nest":0,"liked":false,"member":{"wally_id":"31","email_settings":"127","email":"ross@teamxo.com","address":"ross","gender":"m","member_id":"4","member_name":"ross","avatar_location":"av-4.jpg","avatar_type":"upload","avatar":"\/\/www.runnerspace.com\/forum\/uploads\/av-4.jpg"},"can_delete":false,"item_id":152987,"item_type":"news","pb_image":"\/\/www.runnerspace.com\/forum\/uploads\/av-4.jpg","pb_title":"ross","pb_url":"profile.php?member_id=4","pb_url_dns":"https:\/\/ross.runnerspace.com\/","pb_wally_id":"31"},"794785":{"pb_id":"3026","pb_type":"members","likes":"0","parent_id":"0","pid":"794785","comment_id":"794785","member_id":"3026","comment":"40 minutes to the start of the #PreClassic broadcast! preclassic.com is the only place you need to be!","date_added":"Jun 1st 2013, 1:21am","nest":0,"liked":false,"member":{"wally_id":"35","email_settings":"7168","email":"chrisnickinson@gmail.com","address":"chrisnickinson","gender":"m","member_id":"3026","member_name":"Chris Nickinson","avatar_location":"av-3026.jpg","avatar_type":"upload","avatar":"\/\/www.runnerspace.com\/forum\/uploads\/av-3026.jpg"},"can_delete":false,"item_id":152987,"item_type":"news","pb_image":"\/\/www.runnerspace.com\/forum\/uploads\/av-3026.jpg","pb_title":"Chris Nickinson","pb_url":"profile.php?member_id=3026","pb_url_dns":"https:\/\/chrisnickinson.runnerspace.com\/","pb_wally_id":"35"},"794685":{"pb_id":"46556","pb_type":"members","likes":"0","parent_id":"0","pid":"794685","comment_id":"794685","member_id":"46556","comment":"Ya buddy Bernie do work kid!!!!","date_added":"May 31st 2013, 10:50pm","nest":0,"liked":false,"member":[],"can_delete":false,"item_id":152987,"item_type":"news","pb_image":"i\/no_avatar.png","pb_title":"Calawaydaniel","pb_url":"profile.php?member_id=46556","pb_url_dns":"https:\/\/Calawaydaniel.runnerspace.com\/","pb_wally_id":"1145614"},"794658":{"pb_id":"3026","pb_type":"members","likes":"0","parent_id":"0","pid":"794658","comment_id":"794658","member_id":"3026","comment":"4 hours to go before Distance Night In Eugene goes LIVE at preclassic.com! #preclassic","date_added":"May 31st 2013, 10:09pm","nest":0,"liked":false,"member":{"wally_id":"35","email_settings":"7168","email":"chrisnickinson@gmail.com","address":"chrisnickinson","gender":"m","member_id":"3026","member_name":"Chris Nickinson","avatar_location":"av-3026.jpg","avatar_type":"upload","avatar":"\/\/www.runnerspace.com\/forum\/uploads\/av-3026.jpg"},"can_delete":false,"item_id":152987,"item_type":"news","pb_image":"\/\/www.runnerspace.com\/forum\/uploads\/av-3026.jpg","pb_title":"Chris Nickinson","pb_url":"profile.php?member_id=3026","pb_url_dns":"https:\/\/chrisnickinson.runnerspace.com\/","pb_wally_id":"35"},"794635":{"pb_id":"5929","pb_type":"members","likes":"0","parent_id":"0","pid":"794635","comment_id":"794635","member_id":"5929","comment":"Women's National 800 Meters
